Welcome to the
Matt Withers Australian Music Composition Competition
Details for 2018 coming soon!
The 2016 competition was open to all Australians to submit a work for solo guitar based on the inspiration artwork Forest by Sue Needham, with adjudication by the esteemed composer Dr Robert Davidson, Senior Lecturer in Composition at the University of Queensland.
Thanks to many generous sponsors, the prizes are valued at over $3,000! In 2016, the standard of all entries from right across Australia was very high and the variety of works & composition techniques based on the inspirational artwork was great to see.
Congratulations to all entrants for their incredible efforts and talent and best wishes for your musical futures!
