With over a decade of experience, ABC Classics Artist Matt Withers teaches all ages and abilities with a strong passion for making music enjoyable for all students. He focuses on music reading and a solid technical foundation, leading students to be extremely versatile on the guitar.
As well as being a highly-regarded performer, Matt has lectured and tutored classical guitar around the globe for International Guitar Festivals, Universities, Guitar Societies and more. He has conducted masterclasses at the Music Conservatory of Versailles (France) and the Stockholms Musikpedagogiska Institut (Sweden) as well as adjudicated international guitar competitions in Europe and back home in Australia.
Holding a Masters degree in Classical Guitar Performance, Matt was Head of Guitar at the University of Canberra from 2011 to 2015 and is currently a member of staff at the Australian National University School of Music invited as the Specialist Examiner to adjudicate degree students.
